With my deep affinity for music and popular culture, I recorded a podcast episode with Vayda and directed a music video for her on the same warm summer night in Brooklyn, NY, taking multi-hyphenate creative to another level.

On this special episode of my podcast, coming of age, but irl, I had a fun conversation with the ever-rising rapper born and raised in Atlanta, changing how we listen, think, and engage with rap music with a digital twinkle and a youthful spark. My in-depth creative media research fed into the development of engaging questions, leading us to talk about Soulja Boy and the early age of YouTube, social media, the magic of short songs, sampling, rap-singing, music as a form of journaling, cover arts, celebrity culture, Vayda being an ex-band kid, and much more. With pitched sonic interludes, inclusions of Vayda's production, and a conversational flow that jumps from topic to topic, I crafted a dynamic and entertaining way for listeners to better understand Vayda's artistry.

Through bold shades of colors, empty rooms, and overlooking the Brooklyn city lights on a balcony, I translated the essence of her unique presence in rap in the D-I-Y music video for Vayda's 'hot n hothered.' My direction, lighting choices, compositional focus, and rhythmic editing style created a unique visual flow that complements Vayda's unapologetic coolness.
